Why current wellbeing strategies are doomed to fail
About his talk
There needs to be a realignment of focus towards proactive prevention if employers are to achieve better wellbeing outcomes.
Employee wellbeing is often based on providing reactive support when an employee becomes ill, develops a mental health issue or becomes overburdened with debt. Andrew argues that the emphasis needs to shift. Employers need to redistribute their health spend into keeping employees healthy in mind and body and acting more proactively when employees display the behaviours, that we know, will lead to a decline in health.
In his talk, Andrew will show us how the adoption of wellbeing-related activities and mobile health technologies in the workplace can contribute to better outcomes in terms of organisational and employee health, leading to increased performance.
