Culture eats strategy for breakfast – no matter how good your strategy is!
Maeve shares her experiences and observations on how the banking industry has improved culture and more specifically how drastically improving culture at RBS has helped the company to steer itself towards what will be the biggest corporate turnaround in history. Lots of great observations on actions and outcomes that will get you thinking about your own organisation’s culture and whether it’s eating or enabling your strategy.
About Maeve
Maeve is responsible for shaping marketing and communications strategy for CPB across multiple brands including NatWest, Royal Bank of Scotland, Coutts, Adam & Co and Lombard.
Over the last 24 years, Maeve has worked in a variety of international roles in marketing, communications, account management, sales and product development for large international companies including GE Capital, MasterCard and American Express. Maeve joined RBS from Ulster Bank in Dublin, where she was their first Director of Customer Experience and Products.
In 2013, Maeve was one of 10 GE employees globally to be awarded a ‘Hero of Growth’ Award from then CEO and Chairman Jeff Immelt. She is also a recipient of Ireland’s Image Magazine’s Businesswoman of the year in the Overseas Category. Maeve is a founding member of the LeanIn Chapter in Ireland and is passionate about supporting women in business.
A working mum of two children, Maeve lives a full and integrated life, commuting weekly to London for work. In her spare time, she spends time with her family in Dublin and is a weekend golfer. Maeve enjoys watching rugby (supporting Munster) and skiing in the winter.
